Both downloads are the same LupiOS. The only difference is the graphics driver: pick the NVIDIA one if your PC has an NVIDIA card. On Windows, Task Manager → Performance → GPU tells you which card you have.

LupiOS for NVIDIA

Download lupios-nvidia.iso

  • A USB stick of 8 GB or more. Everything on it gets erased.
  • A 64-bit PC with at least 8 GB of RAM, and an SSD with 64 GB or more for LupiOS.
  • Internet during setup. Some apps download on first boot.

Every ISO comes with a -CHECKSUM file. To make sure your download isn’t damaged, run this in Windows PowerShell and compare the result with the number in that file:

Terminal window
Get-FileHash .\lupios.iso -Algorithm SHA256

On Linux or a Mac: sha256sum lupios.iso (Mac: shasum -a 256 lupios.iso).

If you run Fedora Silverblue, Kinoite or another Fedora Atomic desktop, you can switch it to LupiOS without reinstalling. Use lupios-nvidia instead of lupios if you have an NVIDIA card.

  1. Switch to the unsigned image first. That installs LupiOS’s signing key and policy:
    Terminal window
    rpm-ostree rebase ostree-unverified-registry:ghcr.io/vukkz/lupios:latest
    systemctl reboot
  2. Then switch to the signed image. From now on, your PC only accepts updates signed with the LupiOS key:
    Terminal window
    rpm-ostree rebase ostree-image-signed:docker://ghcr.io/vukkz/lupios:latest
    systemctl reboot

Your Fedora version stays the one LupiOS is built on, so you’re never upgraded to the next one by surprise.

Every LupiOS image is signed with cosign. With cosign.pub from the repository:

Terminal window
cosign verify --key cosign.pub ghcr.io/vukkz/lupios
